Car Show Update

3/7/26 Update. If you go to “Club Car Shows” then to 2026 Judging Documents you will find a copy of our “Judging Form” and a copy of both our “Decades’ & “Specialty” trophies. The purpose of this update is to explain how we use them to select our winners.

First: the Judging form: You are starting off with a point score of 100.  Each of the five categories carry 20 points. Got some old wax around your taillights, some wire nuts in your engine compartment, some brake dust on your wheels, smudges on your rear window, little pebbles stuck in you tires…..  All point deductions. Trunk…If you have one and don’t open it – 4 point deduction. Take your cleaning stuff out and put it in a bag next your chair. Don’t lose the 4 points, it may make a difference. The little 1-2 on the bottom is used for ties only. It’s for your display. A book on display with some pictures gives you a 1. A history of the vehicle, with mirrors and a mannequin sitting in the passenger seat gives you a 2. That doesn’t get you extra points, it’s only used for ties. A vehicle with $2000 in chrome is next to an original without any. The chrome doesn’t give you any points. Cleanliness and appearance is what we are looking for. Questions, give me a call.

Second: The decades: Every single vehicle, whether it’s a car, jeep or truck, gets judged and placed into one of the decade group, in order of their judged scores. NOT MOTORCYCLES..They are judged independently and are not included in this explanation. There are 6 winners in each of the 13 decade groups. You compete with other vehicles in your group only. A 68 Ford pick-up truck isn’t competing with a 2025 Ford F150. But it is with a 66 Dodge Charger. You are judged against the vehicles in your decade group.

Then we pull out all of our  “Specialty” vehicle winners like “Best Rat Rod”, Best Custom Paint”, Best Jeep Duck Display”, “Coolest Custom Cruiser”, Best VW”, Best Electric vehicle” or any of the other “Specialty” vehicles listed there, out of their decades, allowing the others in their decade to move up to fill it’s spot. Still leaving 6 winners in that decade. This means that the 68 Ford Pick-up now moves up to “Best Ford Pick-up” or even “Best Ford” still leaving six others in that decade to win a trophy. We feel this is the fairest way to run a “Judged Show” and giving every participant a chance to win. Every registered participant has a chance to win a trophy.

Oh, the reason we ask you for your top  three vehicles in your judging for “Participants Choice” is to keep it fair. We add up the total number of times a vehicles # is selected. This eliminates some club or group from entering one # on their ballots, giving that # an unfair advantage. Only the ballots with 3 numbers are counted.

We hope this answers some of the questions you may have had. If not, give me a call.   Check here often for future “Updates” and I’ll try to find someone that can help me figure out how to use AI to help me write these procedures better. Hope you enjoy the show.

2/19/26 The 27th Annual Chasco Fiesta Car Show is right around the corner.  Sunday, March 22, 2026, on the streets of beautiful downtown New Port Richey.  Preregister soon, the first 125 registrations get a free t-shirt and dash plaques. We now have a few new Jeep trophies with my favorite, “Best Jeep Duck Display”.  Check out the 2026 Chasco Car Show Judging Documents page under the “Club Car Shows” Menu.

As most of you know, we are a “Not For Profit Corporation” and a 501C3. In 2025 we donated over $20,000.00 to local charities with “Tunnel to Towers” receiving over $3,000.00. We hope to duplicate that this year. So “Thank You” to our sponsors and to all our participants.
